Travel Day 1 to London

Woo ye! What a long day of travel. The day started at 3:30 a.m.: RDU by 4:30 a.m. Flight at 6, land in Toronto at 8, flight to London at 9 a.m. , arrive in London at 9 p.m. Underground to Air B&B one hour, walk three minutes from tube to Sally and Marie's flat.

Amazingly, I didn't get lost- at all. Everything went really well, except on the first step of the escalator going down to the Picadilly Line, the handle of my suitcase broke. It wasn't that bad. I'll try to find a rack with wheels tomorrow.

Right before this happened, I was walking 1.5 miles through Heathrow, when I looked down and found an Oyster card. No one was around. I couldn't return it. This saved me a lot of time and hassle getting on the tube.  Luckily, I was only one stop away on the Underground to St. Pancras International. This is the big station, where I can store my luggage before going to Kent. In England, they call this "left luggage."

I was mistaken as an English woman in Raleigh. And, mistaken as a Canadian in Toronto. I saw the sunrise while landing in Toronto, and the sunset while landing in London. And, after leaving Customs the first thing I heard is "Live While You're Young" by One Direction. It was a nice reminder of the girls.  Must sleep.

OMG

Loved the line of Maple leaves.

They do things a little different in Canada.

Everything in Canada is in French and English. EVERY announcement on the plane is in French and English.
